Not for: Not a photo slideshow maker, and not a template that adds balloons. You shot the party; it cuts the footage you shot.
Story beats for this day
- The room before the guests. Balloons, the cake table, the name on the backdrop. One or two shots say whose day it is; save the rest for the photos.
- The person of the day arriving. A toddler carried in, or a parent walking into a surprise. The reaction is the shot. Keep it whole, and keep it early in the song.
- Games and the people who came. Children running, cousins in a game, grandparents watching. Movement for the middle of the song; check that both sides of the family are in it.
- The cake. The candles, the song everyone sings, the first cut and a messy first bite. Keep the singing audible if you want it heard: the song ducks under a line you keep.
- Speeches and the last dance. A few words from a parent or a friend, then whoever is still dancing. End on the person of the day, not on an empty hall.
After Vantacut Auto-Edit makes the cut, walk these beats on the timeline. A missing one is an ordinary clip; swap it in.
How Vantacut cuts it
Import the cards and turn on AI analysis; speech is understood in 22 Indian languages and English, so a speech or a blessing counts as a moment. Choose the song, pick Energetic for a party or Emotional for a milestone, and press Create. When Auto-Edit asks who matters most, name the person of the day. It shows the plan, then the reel opens as a new timeline of ordinary clips: check the arrival and the cake are there.
The music
A bright, short song: a birthday highlight rarely needs more than a few minutes, and the song’s length is the reel’s length. If the family wants the happy-birthday singing kept, keep that stretch of the clip and the song ducks under it.
The light
Party halls mix stage LEDs, tube lights and the glow of candles; garden parties move from daylight to fairy lights. Auto Balance Colour evens white balance across the cut. Candlelight on faces at the cake is meant to be warm, so check it on the colour page before you export.
Theme
Start with Energetic. You pick it alongside the song and the brief, and if the pace is wrong you can run Auto-Edit again with another of the four.
Your footage stays on your computer
Editing, playback and export run on your computer, and your original footage and songs never leave it. To find moments, Auto-Edit shares low-quality copies of your clips, still frames and the speech, and the app asks once before anything is sent. The editor works worldwide, in English; credit packs are priced in Indian rupees.
Questions
Is a birthday too small a job for Auto-Edit?
No. The job is the same as any event: footage, one song and a highlight. New footage and the reel are each charged by the minute, at the rates on the pricing page.
Can I make a vertical version for the family group?
Yes. Pick 9:16 under Shape before you press Create. Footage shot wide is cropped to fill the frame, centred, so check each shot and adjust the crop where someone sits off-centre.
Can I add the name and age as a title?
Yes. The reel is ordinary clips on a real timeline; add a title clip there before you export.
