- Grand entrance. Names, lights, the walk to the floor. Give it the first phrase. If the DJ talked over it, you still have the picture; the song is yours, not theirs.
- Toasts, as faces and one line. The whole roast will not fit a one-minute reel. Keep the speaker’s face, one line that lands, and one reaction; the song ducks under the line.
- Cake. A short, readable beat. It is décor unless you can see them. Swap in the two-shot if the cut chose a wide of a table.
- First dance. If this reel’s song is the first-dance track, let it run. If it is not, you are cutting picture to a different song; tell the couple which one they will hear.
- The floor when it is actually full. Empty floors are the usual miss. Replace those clips. Energetic suits this reel; keep it away from the vows film.
