On this website
The download and waitlist form. We keep the name, phone number, email and platforms you enter. For a download, we only use your number if there is a problem with it. For a platform that is not out yet, we use it to tell you when the build is ready. Submitting again with the same number updates your details rather than adding a second record. Your details are never sold or shared for advertising.
Cookies and analytics. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
In the app
Your account. Vantacut needs a free Vantacut account. You create it, or sign in, in your browser when the app first opens. After you sign in once, editing keeps working offline.
Your footage and songs. Your original footage and your songs never leave your computer. Editing, playback and export all run there, and nothing is copied or moved.
Auto-Edit analysis. To find the best moments, Auto-Edit shares low-quality copies of your clips, still frames and the speech with the AI services Vantacut uses to analyse footage. The app asks once, before anything is sent. What is shared is used only to analyse your footage and plan your reel. The copies, and what was found in them, are deleted 30 days after a reel last used them, so a clip you keep working with is only analysed once. A reel’s own records, such as its plan and its edit list, are deleted 90 days after it ends.
Credits and purchases. Your credit balance and its history (your starting credits, what each reel was charged and the packs you bought) are kept with your account. To buy a pack, you pay on Razorpay’s page in your browser. We send Razorpay only an order number and the pack; your card and payment details are kept by Razorpay, not by us. We keep each order for 90 days, and the purchase stays in your balance’s history.
Faces. Finding the people in your footage is its own switch, off unless you turn it on. Faces are detected on your computer, and a few face pictures of people who appear often are shared, to ask you who is who.
Logs. The app keeps a log file on your computer. It reaches us only if you attach it to an email (Help → About → Open Logs).
Your rights
Ask what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent to analysis at any time, by email to support@vantacut.com. Withdrawing consent stops future Auto-Edit runs; editing and export never needed it.

The date at the top changes whenever this page does.
